ANNA MARIA COLLEGE ANNOUNCES HIRING OF DR. ERIN BLETTE AS INAUGURAL HEAD COMPETITIVE CHEER COACH

PAXTON, Mass. – Anna Maria College Athletics is excited to announced the hiring of Dr. Erin Blette as the inaugural head coach of the AMCATS competitive cheer program. Blette will lead the launch and development of the College's newest sport beginning in the upcoming academic year.

Blette brings more than 13 years of cheerleading coaching experience at the collegiate, high school, and all-star levels. Most recently, she has served as an assistant cheer coach at Framingham State University since August 2023, where she has played a key role in athlete development, recruiting, and preparing the program for competition at NCA College Nationals.

In addition to her collegiate experience, Blette currently serves as the program head coach at Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School, overseeing varsity and junior varsity programs, staff management, choreography, budgeting, and community engagement. Under her leadership, the program earned the Fall 2024 Sportsmanship Award and finished as North Region runner-up. She has also led successful varsity programs at Bedford High School and Brookline High School, including back-to-back North Region Championships at Bedford.

Beyond coaching, Blette is an accomplished all-star and MSAA judge, certified through United, Open, and USASF, and regularly judges competitions across the region and nationally. She is also an experienced choreographer known for designing current, rule-compliant routines that maximize team scoring potential.

Blette holds USA Cheer certification and is CPR, first aid, AED, and USASF safety trained. She earned her Doctorate and Master's degrees in Education from Northeastern University and a Bachelor's degree in English from Coastal Carolina University.

"I look forward to the excitement and challenge of building new traditions, setting high standards, and achieving and surpassing the goals we set as a team. I am excited to work with the Athletics Department in the expansion of AMCAT sports and leading this new venture to the competition stage."
