Men’s and Women’s Soccer Represented in MASCAC Weekly Awards
PAXTON, MA - With a pair of wins over Massachusetts Maritime last Saturday, both men's and women's soccer teams had players earn Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference weekly awards, announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
Sophomore forward Kyle Brocker earned MASCAC Offensive Player of the Week for the men's team, scoring three goals through two games, including a pair of goals in a 3-0 shutout victory against the Buccaneers, who were previously unbeaten in MASCAC play. He also netted a goal in the 2-1 setback to Johnson and Wales.
On the women's side, freshman forward Jillian Caruso was named MASCAC Rookie of the Week. Caruso scored the game-winner with under five minutes remaining to earn the AMCATS their first conference win, a 1-0 victory over Mass Maritime.
Men's soccer plays at the #9-ranked Wheaton on October 1st at 3:30 p.m., while the women's team hosts Wentworth on the same day at 6 p.m.
