Field Hockey and Men’s Soccer Recognized in MASCAC Weekly Awards

PAXTON, MA – Two Anna Maria College student-athletes earned Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) weekly honors, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.

Field Hockey
Sophomore Lily Celata was named MASCAC Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week following her standout performance in last Tuesday's commanding 8-1 victory over Elms College. The midfielder tallied five goals and added an assist, finishing the night with 11 points, a single-game mark unmatched in the program's accessible history.

Celata looks to continue her high level of play in MASCAC action as Anna Maria field hockey travels to Salem State on Tuesday, September 16. Game time is set for 4:00 p.m.

Men's Soccer
Freshman Nils Cofalka was selected as MASCAC Rookie of the Week for his clutch contributions in Saturday's 4-4 draw against conference opponent Salem State. The midfielder notched his first career goal early in the contest and went on to score three total, including a dramatic equalizer on a header off a corner kick with just 27 seconds remaining to secure the tie.

Anna Maria College men's soccer welcomes the defending 2024 NCAA Division III National Champions, Amherst College, on Wednesday, September 17. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
