Anna Maria College Promotes Ron Scarborough to Head Coach of Women's Soccer

PAXTON, MA – The Anna Maria College athletic department announced that Interim Head Coach Ron Scarborough has been named the official Head Coach of the Women's Soccer program, effective immediately, heading into the 2026–27 season.

"Ron has demonstrated a commitment and passion for our women's soccer program during his time as interim head coach," said David McCauley, Executive Director of Athletics at Anna Maria College. "Under his guidance, the team has continued to develop both on and off the field, and we are confident that removing the interim tag and naming Ron as our permanent head coach provides the stability and direction needed for continued success."

Scarborough looks to build on a season that saw his squad improve with each match played, highlighted by a win over MASCAC rival Massachusetts Maritime and back-to-back draws against Wentworth and MCLA. The AMCATS also closed out the season with four closely contested matches.

Coach Scarborough echoed this sentiment, stating, "I would like to thank Director of Athletics David McCauley for believing in me for this role. I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity to lead the Anna Maria College women's soccer program. This season reaffirmed my belief in the potential of this group, their commitment to growth, their willingness to compete, and the culture they've continued to build together. My focus moving forward is on developing the whole student-athlete, creating a competitive and positive environment, and building a program that represents Anna Maria with pride both on the field and in the classroom."

All four of Scarborough's top goal scorers are eligible to return next season, along with both of the AMCATS' goalkeepers, who split time in net throughout the year. The pair combined for 149 saves on the season, posting a save percentage just under .800.

With a full offseason ahead, Scarborough will look to continue building on the program's progress as the AMCATS prepare for the 2026 campaign.
