Paxton, Mass. — The Anna Maria College women's lacrosse team fell to FDU-Florham, 16-1, in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon.
FDU-Florham built an early lead, scoring eight goals in the first quarter and taking a 13-0 advantage into halftime.
The AMCATS continued to compete throughout the contest, seeing solid defensive efforts and strong play in net from Grace Holden, who totaled 11 saves. Anna Maria remained active defensively with 12 ground balls and forced 11 turnovers, while working to generate offensive opportunities against a tough Devils defense.
Mackenzie Fitch broke through for the AMCATS in the final seconds, scoring on a man-up opportunity to record Anna Maria's lone goal of the game.
Kennedy Etheridge added a late shot on goal, as the AMCATS continued to push offensively down the stretch.
