AMCATS FALL TO FALCONS
New Haven, Conn. – The Anna Maria College women's lacrosse team fell on the road to Albertus Magnus, 7–3, on Tuesday afternoon.
Albertus Magnus opened the scoring with a pair of goals in the first quarter and added another in the second to take a 3–0 lead into halftime.
The AMCATS broke through in the third quarter when Kortney Clark found the back of the net on an unassisted goal at the 10:05 mark, putting the AMCATS on the board and cutting into the deficit.
Albertus Magnus responded with two goals later in the third quarter to extend the lead to 5–1 heading into the final frame.
Anna Maria showed fight in the fourth quarter, scoring twice down the stretch. Kelsey Wilson converted on a free-position opportunity with 8:10 remaining before Clark added her second goal of the game on another free-position shot at the 6:26 mark to bring the game to its final score of 7–3.
Clark led the AMCATS offense with two goals, while Wilson added one goal. Clark also paced Anna Maria with four shots on goal.
Defensively, Grace Holden played all 60 minutes in net for the AMCATS, recording eight saves.
Anna Maria finished the game with 18 shots, including eight on goal, while forcing multiple defensive stops throughout the contest.

Anna Maria women's lacrosse is back in action on Thursday March 12th as they host the Leopards of Wentworth Institute of Technology for a non-conference matchup. Opening Draw is set for 5:00pm.
