Sharks Swim Past Women's Lacrosse In Last Home Game Of The Season
PAXTON, MA - On Saturday, April 19th the Anna Maria College women's lacrosse team hosted the Simmons University Sharks for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference matchup. The AMCATS lost the game 21-6.
The AMCATS were the first on the board after Riley Michaud capitalized on a free position opportunity less than a minute into the first quarter. The Sharks would go on to score three straight goals before Riley Michaud found the back of the net again with help from Ivy Ballou. Olivia Stump would score the AMCATS third goal of the day with just under three minutes left to play in the first quarter for a score of 6-3 in favor of the Sharks.
Simmons opened up the second quarter with six straight goals before Michaud found the back of the net yet again. unfortunately the AMCATS trailed 12-4 at the end of the first half of play. Things would not improve much in the second half of play as the AMCATS only managed two more goals compared to the Sharks nine. The game would end with a final score of 21-6 in favor of Simmons.
COMING UP:
The AMCATS will be back in action on Tuesday, April 22nd where they will make their way to Weston, MA to take on the Regis College Pride for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference matchup as well as their last game of the season. Opening draw is set for 7:00pm.
