6 different AMCATS Score in Conference Win over Mariners
PAXTON, MA. – The Anna Maria Women's lacrosse team traveled to New London, CT to take on the Mariners of Mitchell College. The AMCATS won the game the game 15-5.
The AMCATS would come out flying in the first quarter, where they would do all the scoring in the first, keeping the Mariners off the board completely in the first playing tremendous defense. The AMCATS scoring would start with a goal from Riley Michaud for the AMCATS to have a 1 to 0 lead. The AMCATS would get their second goal off the stick of Ivy Ballou to take a 2 to 0 lead. The third goal would come off a pass from Ivy Ballou to Olivia Stump to find the back of the net for the AMCATS to make it 3 to 0. It would be about a minute later that the AMCATS would tally their fourth goal of the game off a pass from Olivia Stump to Carly Drew to score for the AMCATS. The AMCATS were not letting off the gas pedal as it was already 4 to 0 in the first, the AMCATS would strike one last time in the first to get their 5th goal of the game off the stick of Olivia Stump for her second goal of the game.
The AMCATS would look to take the strong offensive momentum from eh first quarter and use it in the second. The second quarter the Mariners would capitalize first with about five minutes into the second, the Mariners would score their first goal of the game, trailing to the AMCATS by 4. It would be less than a minute later after the Mariners goal that the AMCATS would take the ball down the field, to score their 6th goal of the game off a pass from Olivia Stump to Riley Michaud for her second goal of the game. The AMCATS would continue to defend their net, and score goals against the Mariners as the AMCATS would score their 7th goal of the game off the stick of Ivy Ballou, for her second goal of the game. The Mariners would continue to push against the AMCATS scoring their second goal of the game to trail to the AMCATS 7 to 2. The AMCATS would really bring the intensity against the Mariners, as they would go on to score two more goals before the second quarter would end. The eighth goal would be a free position shot from Riley Michaud for her third goal of the game. The ninth goal of the game would be off the stick of Olivia Stump for her third goal of the game. The AMCATS would head to half time leading and dominating the Mariners 9 to 2.
The third quarter the AMCATS would look to just keep the intensity up offensively and defensively against the Mariners. The Mariners would strike first int eh third quarter scoring their third goal of the game. It would not take long for the AMCATS to strike right back, less than a minute later off a goal from Raegan Hachey. The AMCAST would be leading the Mariners 10 to 3. There was still about 11 minutes left to play in the third quarter and the AMCATS as they have been all game were strong offensively scoring off a pass from Raegan Hachey to Olivia Stump for her fourth goal of the game, to lead the Mariners 11 to 3. The Mariners did manage to get one more goal against the AMCATS in the third quarter before time would end, for their 4th goal of the game. The AMCATS would look to go into the final quarter of the game ahead of the Mariners 11 to 4.
The AMCATS would completely dominate the fourth quarter offensively and defensively allowing the Mariners to score only one goal in the fourth quarter for their fifth and final goal of the game. The AMCATS would silence the Mariners as Raegan Hachey would get her second goal of the game with about 9 minutes left to paly in the fourth to lead the Mariners 12 to 5. The AMCATS were not done yet offensively as it would be Raegan Hachey again a little over two minutes later for her third goal of the game to make it a 13 to 5 game. The AMCATS would manage two more goals in the fourth quarter before time would expire, with the 14th goal coming off a pass from Olivia Stump to Kortney Clark to find the back of the net for the AMCATS. The AMCATS final goal of the game would come with about 15 seconds left off a free position shot from Ivy Ballou for her third goal of the game. The AMCATS totally dominated and controlled the Mariners offensively and defensively to earn the conference win over the Mariners 15 to 5.
