WOMEN'S LACROSSE FALLS TO MONKS
PAXTON, MA - On Saturday March 15th, 2025, Anna Maria College women's lacrosse team hosted the Monks of Saint Joseph's College (ME) for a conference matchup. The AMCATS lost the game 19-2.
The Monks started the game off with 12 unanswered goals. It wouldn't be until late in the second quarter that Riley Michaud would break the AMCATS silence making it a 12-1 game, that would conclude the scoring in the second quarter. The AMCATS would head to halftime down to the Monks 12 to 1. The Monks would come out in the second half strong dominating play against the AMCATS as they would go on to score three more goals in the third quarter against the AMCATS. The AMCATS would manage one last goal in the third quarter off the stick of Christine Ijawet, off a pass from Riley Michaud for the second and last goal of the game for the AMCATS. The AMCATS would head into the fourth quarter down to the Monks 15 to 2. The fourth quarter would be all Monks as they would go on to score four more goals against the AMCATS to silence them with a score of 19 to 2. The fourth quarter would end and the AMCATS would fall to the Monks 19 to 2.

- Riley Michaud would add to her lead total for the AMCATS with 12 goals and 6 assists for 18 points in five games so far this season.
- Christine Ijawet would lead the AMCATS in draw control wins with 7 against the Monks.
- Grace Holden would record 15 saves against the Monks.

The AMCATS will be back in action on Tuesday March 18th where they will host the Buccaneers of Mass Maritime for a non-conference matchup. Opening draw is set for 6:00pm.
