Women’s Lacrosse Taken Down by Thomas

WATERVILLE, Maine - Anna Maria College was defeated 13-3 by Thomas College in a non-conference collegiate women's lacrosse game on Wednesday afternoon at Smith Field.

With the loss, the AMCATS overall record drops to 1-5 before entering conference play.

Thomas opened the first quarter with three goals before Anna Maria got on the board with Megan Tegethoff scoring an unassisted goal. Thomas scored again to take a 4-1 lead into the second quarter.

Thomas tacked on two more goals in the second quarter, but the AMCATS struck first in the second half when Tegethoff scored her second unassisted goal of the game on a man-up opportunity early in the third quarter.

Tegethoff scored once more in the final quarter to earn the hat-trick. From there, Thomas added to their advantage, keeping the game out of reach for the AMCATS.

Grace Holden played the entire game in net, making 16 saves throughout the game.

Anna Maria returns to action on Saturday, March 21, for a home game against FDU-Florham beginning at 1 p.m.
