WOMEN"S LACROSSE DROPS SEASON OPENER TO RAPTORS

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – The Anna Maria College women's lacrosse team opened its 2026 campaign on the road Saturday afternoon, falling to Bard College, 11-0, at the Lorenzo Ferrari Soccer and Lacrosse Complex.

Despite the final score, the AMCATS showed resilience throughout the contest, highlighted by a strong defensive effort and 16 saves from sophomore goalkeeper Grace Holden in the season debut.

Bard struck first midway through the opening quarter and added a late free-position goal to take a 2-0 lead after one. The AMCATS generated early opportunities, including a pair of shots on goal from Kortney Clark and Kelsey Wilson, but were unable to break through.

The Raptors extended their lead in the second quarter, capitalizing on several man-up opportunities. Holden remained busy in net, making key stops on free-position attempts to keep the game within reach heading into halftime.

The AMCATS defense battled throughout the second half, with Kennedy Etheridge leading the way with seven caused turnovers and seven ground balls. Alyse Mutti controlled a team-high eight ground balls, while Tamyiah Bankhead added four ground balls and four caused turnovers in a gritty midfield performance.

The AMCATS finished with 42 ground balls as a team and showed improvement in clears during the second half, successfully converting seven attempts over the final two quarters.
