Rodriques Named Baseball Associate Head Coach
PAXTON, MA - Earlier this semester, Andrew Rodriques was named Associate Head Coach for the Anna Maria College baseball program. He will maintain his previous roles as Pitching Coach and Recruiting Coordinator.
Entering his fifth total year on the AMCATS coaching staff, Rodriques has been instrumental for Anna Maria's pitching game, leading the squad to record-breaking numbers, including the program's lowest team ERA in a decade, multiple All-Region and All-Conference selections, and back-to-back seasons with new single-season strikeout records. His leadership has also earned the team national recognition, helping the Anna Maria pitching staff rank 11th in Division III in strikeouts per nine innings.
An Anna Maria alum, Rodriques also subscribes to the college's commitment to academic success, with 42 of his players earning Academic All-Conference honors over the past three seasons.
Head Coach Dan Briand spoke highly of Rodriques' impact, stating, "ARod has been an important part of our program since his time as a player. His growth and development over the past four years as a coach is impressive. He's a relentless recruiter, always on the road and showing recruits around campus, and he oversees our entire pitching staff and runs our strength and conditioning program as well."
Briand added, "He embodies everything we want our program to be. This is well-deserved for someone who played here, graduated from here, and has made tremendous contributions to the college over the past 8 years as a player, coach, and alum. He is someone the school should be very proud of, and his story is one that should be promoted as inspiration to future students at Anna Maria."
As Associate Head Coach, Rodriques aims to continue advancing the success of the Anna Maria baseball program, enabling student-athletes to excel both on and off the field.
