Bio
In December 2025, Bridget D’Amelio was named Head Women’s Flag Football Coach at Anna Maria College, bringing extensive coaching experience, program-building success, and a deep commitment to the growth of women’s flag football at the collegiate level.
D’Amelio joins the AMC athletics staff after helping establish and lead the girls flag football program at Wachusett Regional High School, where she served as head coach beginning in 2024. In just two seasons, she guided the program from its inaugural year to one of the top-ranked teams in Massachusetts. After an 8–8 debut season, her squad surged to a 14–2 record in year two, earning a No. 2 ranking in the Central/West Conference, a No. 4 state ranking, and recognition as the conference’s Most Improved Team. Under her leadership, the program expanded from nine players to 30, requiring the development of multiple rosters, playbooks, and coordinated coaching staffs.
A strong advocate for the sport, D’Amelio has worked closely with league officials, school administrators, and New England Patriots personnel to promote girls flag football across the region. Her teams have competed on high-profile stages, including a halftime game at Gillette Stadium in front of more than 65,000 fans. She is also actively involved in player development through film study, classroom instruction, leadership initiatives, and community engagement.
In addition to her high school success, D’Amelio has coached extensively at the youth and club levels, including with Leominster Flag Football League and the We Run The World Tournament, where she has led teams comprised of both experienced and first-time players. She has also volunteered at New England Patriots Girls Flag Football Jamborees and college showcases, reinforcing her dedication to expanding opportunities for female athletes.
D’Amelio brings more than two decades of overall coaching experience across flag football, soccer, and track, along with a strong background in program administration, recruiting, and social media promotion. She holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in physical therapy from Springfield College and maintains multiple coaching and safety certifications.
