AMCATS FALL TO EAGLES IN OVERTIME THRILLER

PAXTON, MA – The Anna Maria College men's lacrosse team battled hard but came up just short in a 9-8 overtime loss against Husson on Wednesday, March 19th, 2025. Despite a strong second-half performance, the AMCATS were unable to secure the win, dropping to 3-2 on the season.
 
The game started as a defensive battle, with both teams managing just one goal each in the first quarter. Husson pulled ahead in the second quarter, outscoring Anna Maria 2-1 to take a 3-2 lead into halftime.
 
The third quarter saw an offensive spark from both teams, as they each found the net three times. The AMCATS remained within striking distance but still trailed heading into the final period. In the fourth, Anna Maria's offense came alive, scoring three goals to force an 8-8 tie at the end of regulation.
 
In overtime, the AMCATS had an opportunity to win but couldn't convert. Husson capitalized on their possession, scoring the game-winning goal to hand Anna Maria a tough 9-8 loss in a closely contested matchup.
