Farrell Scores Four Straight In AMCATS Win Over Panthers

PAXTON, MA - On Saturday, March 1st the Anna Maria College men's lacrosse team hosted the Panthers of SUNY Purchase for a non-conference matchup. The AMCATS won the game 10-4.

The AMCATS opened up the scoring with a goal from Nathan Powers just under five minutes into the first quarter. Eric Farrell kept the momentum going for the AMCATS with an unassisted goal nearly three minutes later. The Panthers found the back of the net for the first time of the day with a little over six minutes left to play in the first quarter making it 2-1.

The Panthers were the only ones to score in the second quarter putting the AMCATS at a one goal deficit going into halftime. The Panthers would score just one last goal early in the third quarter before the AMCATS went on to score eight unanswered goals. The AMCATS surge started with a goal from Liam Bedenkop followed by a late third quarter goal from Nathan Powers to tie the game up at four goals a piece.

Eric Farrell led the charge for the AMCATS in the fourth quarter with four straight goals over the span of nearly five minutes giving the AMCATS an 8-4 lead over the Panthers. Ben Hardy would tack on a pair of goals to close the game out for a final score of 10-4 in favor of the AMCATS. Nathan Powers won 17 of the games 18 face-offs to help the AMCATS in the win over the Panthers.

  • This marks the AMCATS first win of the 2025 season.
  • The AMCATS have beat the Panthers twice in their last two meetings.
  • Eric Farrell put up six points (5 G; 1 A) in his first game back with the AMCATS since March 20th, 2024.

COMING UP:

The AMCATS will be back in action on Tuesday, March 4th where they will host the Trailblazers of MCLA for a non-conference matchup. Opening face-off is set for 5:00pm at Caparso Field in Paxton, MA.
