MEN'S LACROSSE SUFFERS FIRST LOSS OF THE SEASON AGAINST CADETS

PAXTON, MA- On Saturday, March 15th the Anna Maria College men's lacrosse team hosted the Norwich University Cadets for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference matchup. The AMCATS lost the game 19-2.

Norwich opened up the game with an early goal in the first quarter. It would be the AMCATS to quickly answer to the Cadets tying the game up off a goal from Nathan Powers, to notch the game up 1 to 1. The Cadets would find the pressure against the AMCATS to manage their second goal of the game shortly after the AMCATS goal to regain the lead 2 to 1. The AMCATS were not letting down and were continuing to fight against the Cadets, putting up the second goal of the game from the stick of Jeremy Dewar to tie things up between the Cadets and AMCATS 2 to 2 once again. It would then be the Cadets to pull away from the AMCATS and silencing them for the rest of the game putting up 17 unanswered goals and keeping the AMCATS off the board for the remainder of the game. The AMCATS would be shut down by the Cadets after their second goal in the first quarter. The AMCATS would fall to the Cadets 19 to 2. 

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

• Nathan Powers would lead the AMCATS with 16 ground balls against the Cadets and go 19-23 on faceoffs.

The AMCATS will be back in action on Wednesday, March 19h where they will host the Husson University Eagles for a non-conference matchup. Opening face-off is set for 6:00pm
