WOMEN’S BASKETBALL CELEBRATES SENIOR DAY WITH A COMMANDING 75-37 VICTORY OVER COLBY-SAWYER

PAXTON, MA- On the Anna Maria College women's basketball team hosted the Chargers of Colby-Sawyer on Senior Day. The AMCATS won the game 75 to 37. 
 
The Anna Maria women's basketball team made Senior Day a memorable one with a dominant 75-37 victory over Colby-Sawyer. The AMCATS, fueled by the energy of the home crowd, delivered a complete performance on both ends of the floor, celebrating their senior players with a decisive win that highlighted their teamwork and skill.
 
From the opening tip, the AMCATS fed off the electric atmosphere in the gym, with fans, family, and fellow students cheering loudly in support of the seniors. The team responded to the overwhelming support with an aggressive and focused start, building a 16-12 lead in the first quarter. The energy only grew in the second quarter as Anna Maria's defense completely smothered Colby-Sawyer, holding them to just five points. By halftime, the AMCATS had a commanding 33-17 lead, with the seniors leading the charge.
 
In the third quarter, the AMCATS turned up the intensity, erupting for 23 points while continuing to limit their opponent's opportunities. Senior standout Marinique Reddin delivered a spectacular performance, consistently finding ways to score and creating opportunities for her teammates. Meanwhile, Madison Paulhus contributed key plays on both offense and defense, bringing the crowd to their feet with her relentless hustle. By the final quarter, Anna Maria had the game well in hand but didn't let up, adding another 19 points to seal the victory.
 
The significance of Senior Day was evident throughout the game, as the team played with passion and determination to honor their graduating players. The lively crowd provided constant support, creating an atmosphere of celebration and pride. The team played with heart, and the energy from the stands was incredible.
 
Anna Maria's performance showcased their ability to dominate in all facets of the game. Their rebounding, defensive pressure, and balanced offensive attack left no doubt about their focus and determination. The victory was not only a fitting tribute to the seniors but also a strong statement about the team's potential moving forward.

-Madison Paulhus: Played a key role with 18 points, 3 rebounds, 3 steals, and 1 block, shooting 6-11 and adding critical free throws (5-6) in high-pressure moments.
-Megan Burdett: Would add to the AMCATS lead with 9 points and 5 rebounds, showcasing her reliability from the free-throw line with 7-8 shooting.
