Reddin Puts Up 35 Points In Win Against Falcons

FITCHBURG, MA On Wednesday November 20, 2024, the Anna Maria College women's basketball team traveled to Fitchburg, MA to take on the Falcons of Fitchburg State for a non-conference matchup. the AMCATS won the game 68-57. 

In the first quarter, the AMCATS and the Falcons would battle it out, going basket for basket. Both teams would bring the offensive momentum putting up points on the scoreboard, the AMCATS would go point for point in the first quarter against the Falcons, until the quarter would end with the AMCATS one point ahead of the Falcons.  The AMCATS would look to go into the second quarter, with the same momentum and offensive mindset against the Falcons. The AMCATS would continue to battle against the Falcons and stay strong not only offensively but would also tighten up their defensive play to be able to pull away from the Falcons getting multiple points in the second quarter, taking the lead over the Falcons. The AMCATS strong offensive play would allow them to head to halftime up against the Falcons 33 to 30.

Heading into the third quarter, the AMCATS would look to continue the strong play  and the offensive mindset, to increase their lead over the Falcons. The AMCATS would continue the strong offensive momentum, but the Falcons were not going away, continuing to put up points against the AMCATS. The AMCATS would score twenty points in the third quarter, but the Falcons would stick around and match the twenty points in the third quarter with the AMCATS. That would mean the fourth quarter in the game would be the deciding factor would the AMCATS hold on for the win against the Falcons. 

In the fourth quarter the AMCATS would need to come out strong to beat the Falcons as the Falcons were continuing to battle against the AMCATS. The AMCATS would come out strong, just the way they wanted against the Falcons in the fourth as they would silence the Falcons putting up 15 points compared to the Falcons 7 points. The AMCATS strong offensive play and defensive play in the fourth quarter would lead them to winning the game against the Falcons as they would completely dominate play in the fourth. The AMCATS would hold on to beat the Falcons in the game 68-57. 

For the AMCATS Marinique Reddin was the leading scorer with 35 points. Sharayah Scott-Cummins also had a strong performance, scoring 10 points, in her outing against the Falcons.
