Women's Basketball Drops Season Opener To Cougars

PAXTON, MA - On Friday, November 8th the Anna Maria College women's volleyball team hosted the Clark University Cougars for game one of the Worcester City Tournament. The AMCATS lost the game 93-59.

The Cougars took an early lead over the AMCATS in the first quarter with a score of 19-12. After keeping the game within seven points, the Cougars started to pull away from the AMCATS putting up 29 points in the second quarter to make it 48-23 game going into halftime.

Things wouldn't get much better in the third and fourth quarters, as the AMCATS struggled to keep up with the Cougars. Taking a commanding lead, Clark would push the score to 93-59 as the game entered its final minutes. Marinique Reddin would lead the AMCATS offense scoring 17 out of 59 points on the night.

The AMCATS will be back in action on Saturday, November 9th where they will host the Worcester State University Lancers for the Consolation game of the Worcester City Tournament. opening tip off is set for 6:00pm at the Fuller Center in Paxton, MA.
