SERAFIN THREE POINTER SECURES MEN'S BASKETBALL VICTORY OVER BULLDOGS

FRANKLIN, MA– On Wednesday January 29^th, 2025 the Anna Maria College men's basketball game would travel to Franklin, MA to take on the Bulldogs of Dean College. The AMCATS would beat the Bulldogs 72 to 69. 

In the first half, the AMCATS and the Bulldogs would battle it out, going basket for basket. Both teams would bring the offensive momentum putting up points on the scoreboard, the AMCATS would go point for point in the first quarter against the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs would pull ahead of the AMCATS as the final seconds would run out in the first quarter to put the Bulldogs ahead of the AMCATS by one point to end the first half. At the end of the first half the AMCATS would be down to the Bulldogs 34 to 33. 

The AMCATS would look to go into the second half, with the same offensive momentum but it needed to be stronger, and they needed to battle better on defense in order to come back against the Bulldogs and gain the lead in the game. The AMCATS would continue to battle against the Bulldogs and stay strong not only offensively but would also tighten up their defensive play in the second half which is what they needed to do if they wanted to take the lead over the Bulldogs. As the half would continue the AMCATS would look to continue the powerful play over the Bulldogs and the strong offensive momentum and point scoring to gain the lead over the Bulldogs. The AMCATS would get their chances towards the end of the second half. As the AMCATS would be beginning to not only get their offensive momentum, but their defensive mindset and skills would tighten up in the game as well. It would be the AMCATS to pressure the Bulldogs at the end of the second half of the game to close out the come from behind victory. It would be Nolan Serafin to secure the AMCATS win with a three pointer seconds before the buzzer in the second half. The AMCATS strong offensive skills, defensive play and Serafin buzzer beater would lead the AMCATS in the second half. The sensational second half play from the AMCATS would secure the come from behind win against the Bulldogs 72 to 69. 

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

• Ray Carter would lead the AMCATS on the night against the Bulldogs putting up 18 points. 
• Nolan Serafin would also put up sensational numbers for the AMCATS putting up 16 points against the Bulldogs.
• Ray Carter would lead the AMCATS in rebounds against the Bulldogs with 7 total and 7 defensive rebounds. 
• In the game there would be 5 different AMCATS that would score double digits numbers against the Bulldogs.

The AMCATS will look to carry this momentum into their next matchup as they travel to Standish, ME to take on Saint Joseph's (Me.) on Saturday, February 1st. Tip-off is set for 3:00 PM EST.
