Armsteads Second Half Surge Secures Win Over Wildcats

PROVIDENCE, RI - On Saturday, January 18th the Anna Maria College men's basketball team traveled to Providence, RI to take on the Johnson & Wales University Wildcats for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference matchup. The AMCATS won the game 64-55.

The first half of the game would end in a dead lock with each team recording 29 points. Ray Carter Jr. led the AMCATS offense in the first half with eight points going 2 for 3 on the free throw line. Gabe Armstead followed close behind with seven points and four rebounds.

Sitting at even after the first half, the AMCATS kicked things into gear and began putting pressure on the Wildcats defense. Gabe Armstead would surge for 16 points in the second half with a perfect 3 for 3 performance on the free throw line.the AMCATS would end up outscoring the Wildcats 35-26 in the second half to secure their third conference win of the season.

COMING UP:

The AMCATS will be back in action on Tuesday, January 21st where they will host the Rivier University Raiders for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference matchup. Opening tip-off is set for 5:00pm at the Fuller Center in Paxton, MA.
