Men's Basketball Topped By Lasers 90-69

PAXTON, MA- On Saturday January 25, 2025, the Anna Maria College men's basketball team hosted the Lasers of Lasell University for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference matchup. The AMCATS lost the game 90 to 69. 

The first half of the game the AMCATS would put on the pressure against the Lasers on the offense, but the Lasers would continue to fight with the AMCATS putting up points on the board to add to their score. The first half would be played as an even matchup between both teams. The Lasers would manage to pull away from the AMCATS as the first half would continue to wind down. The AMCATS would battle back but would still find themselves down by 7 points to the Lasers headed into half time. 

The second half the AMCATS would hope to come out with the same momentum and energy as the first hoping to put up more points and limit the Lasers on defense. It would not work out in the AMCATS favor, as the Lasers would completely silence the AMCATS in the second half of the game. Despite the AMCATS momentum in the first half of the game, and the strong play in the beginning of the second half it would be totally dominate by the Lasers as the second half would continue to count down in the second half. The AMCATS would not however back down and would continue to fight against the Lasers but it would be the Lasers to totally pull away from the AMCATS. Despite the AMCATS coming out powerful in the game, and staying strong against the Lasers, it would be the Lasers to go on and totally dominate the second half of the game beating the Lasers 90 to 69. 

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:

• Jayden Dickerson would lead the AMCATS on offense posting 27 points in the game against the Lasers.
• Gabriel Armstead would lead the AMCATS on rebounds and defensive rebounds, with 10 total rebounds and 6 defensive rebounds.  
• Trent Smith would lead the AMCATS with 6 assists in the game against the Lasers. 
• The AMCATS would have three different players have double dight points in the game against the Lasers.

COMING UP:

Men's basketball is back in action on Wednesday January 29, 2025 where they will head to Franklin, MA to take on the Bulldogs of Dean College for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference matchup. Opening tip-off is set for 7:00pm.
