BLUE JAYS SURGE PAST MEN'S BASKETBALL IN SECOND HALF
PAXTON, MA- On Wednesday January 15th, 2025 the Anna Maria College men's basketball team hosted the University of Connecticut Blue Jays for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference matchup. The AMCATS lost the game 87 to 63.
The first half of the game the AMCATS would put on the pressure against the Blue Jays on the offense, but the Blue Jays would continue to fight with the AMCATS putting up points on the board to add to their score. The first half would be played as an even matchup between both teams. The Blue Jays would manage to put up two more points at the end of the first half as the AMCATS would trail the Blue Jays 32 to 30. Ray Carter would total 10 of the AMCATS 30 points in the first half.
The second half the AMCATS would hope to come out with the same momentum and energy as the first putting up more points and limiting the Blue Jays on defense. It would not work out in the AMCATS favor, as the Blue Jays would completely silence the AMCATS in the second half of the game. Despite the AMCATS momentum in the first half of the game, the Blue Jays would just dominate in the second half putting up 55 points in the second and limiting the AMCATS to 33 points. It would be the AMCATS that would fall to the Blue Jays 87 to 63.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- Ray Carter would lead the AMCATS on offense posting 22 points in the game against the Blue Jays.
- Gabriel Armstead would lead the AMCATS on rebounds and defensive rebounds, with 9 total rebounds and 7 defensive rebounds.
- The AMCATS would have three different players have double dight points in the game against the Blue Jays.

Men's basketball is back in action on Saturday January 18th where they will head to Rhode Island to take on the Wildcats of Johnson and Wales for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference matchup. Opening tip-off is set for 3:00pm.
