Hennessey and McElhinny Earn MASCAC Weekly Awards for Men’s Ice Hockey

PAXTON, MA – Matthew Hennessey and Dylan McElhinny earned Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference weekly honors following their standout performances in the AMCATS' 5-2 victory over New England College on Friday evening.

Hennessey was named MASCAC Goalie of the Week after leading the AMCATS to their seventh win of the season, stopping 35 shots for a .946 save percentage. The junior has been solid all season, posting a 7-2 individual record with 275 total saves, a .939 save percentage, and a 2.00 goals-against average.

Sophomore Dylan McElhinny earned MASCAC Player of the Week honors after factoring into four of the AMCATS' five goals against NEC. McElhinny netted two goals, including an impressive backhanded finish that can be viewed HERE on the AMCATS' Instagram, while also adding two assists to finish the night with four points and a +3 plus/minus rating. McElhinny ranks second on the team with seven points on the season, totaling three goals and four assists.

Anna Maria returns to action in the new year, traveling to Johnson & Wales for a non-conference matchup on Friday, January 9, with puck drop scheduled for 7 p.m.
