Women's Volleyball Upended by Wildcats And Rams
FRAMINGHAM, MA - On Saturday, October 19th the Anna Maria College women's volleyball team traveled to Framingham, MA for a tri-match against the Bay Path Wildcats and the Rams of Framingham State. The AMCATS would lose both sets 3-0.
The AMCATS opened the day against the Wildcats of Bay Path. The Wildcats would come out in the first set with total control, dominating the first set against the AMCATS 25 to 7. The AMCATS would look to come back from hat first set, against the Rams. It would not take long before the Rams dominate against the AMCATS again, beating them in the second set 25 to 13. The AMCATS would improve in the second set but would still fall short in the second set to the Wildcats. The AMCATS would look to come out strong in the third set to keep the match and game going. The AMCATS would give their all-in set three, but it would be the Wildcats of Bay Path that would come up on top against the AMCATS winning set three 25 to 16. This would prove to be the strongest offensively for the AMCATS in the match but ultimately would still fall short to the Wildcats. The match, against the Wildcats would end as they would beat the AMCATS in three straight sets. Emily Colp led the AMCATS in digs with 6 in the match. It would be Jana Hunt that would lead the AMCATS in kills will 6. It would be Gia Hall that would lead the AMCATS with 12 assists in the match.
The second match of the day for the AMCATS will be against the rams, where the AMCATS look to come out strong and battle back from their first match of the day. This second match of the day would be against the Rams of Framingham State. The AMCATS would find themselves down to the Rams quickly, as the Rams would come out strong in the first set, winning 25 to 12. The AMCATS would look to battle back, and get their first win of the set, but would fall short to the Rams losing the second set 25 to 12. The first and second set would prove to be the best for the AMCATS, but ultimately would still fall short in both sets to the rams. The third set would start, and the AMCATS would really look to come out strong offensively and get ahead of the rams. But it would quickly be the Rams to come out strong and the AMCATS would find themselves falling behind and would try to battle back offensively but ultimately would fall short losing the third set 25 to 10. The AMCATS would get swept by the Rams of Framingham losing three straight sets for the match. It would be Annie Taylor that would lead the AMCATS in digs with 15 against the rams. Bri Franklin would lead the AMCATS with 3 kills. AMCAT player Gia Hall would lead the team with 6 attacks against the rams.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- Gia Hall would lead the AMCATS with a total of 18 attacks on the day, totaling 252 so far this season.
- This marks the second time the AMCATS were defeated by the Wildcats of Bay Path this season.
- The AMCATS have been defeated in every tri-match so far this season.

The AMCATS will be back in action on Wednesday October 23rd, where they will travel to Boston, MA to take on the Sharks of Simmons University for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference matchup. The match is set to start at 7:00pm.
