Volleyball Can't Come Back In Loss To Golden Bears

SPRINGFIELD, MA - On Wednesday, September 4th the Anna Maria College women's volleyball team traveled to Springfield, MA to take on the Western New England University Golden Bears for a non-conference matchup. The AMCATS lost the match 3 sets to 0.

The AMCATS struggled to keep up with the Golden Bears in the first set as they went down early with a score of 25-11 putting them at a 1-0 deficit to start the match. It wasn't until the second set that the AMCATS would find their stride as they took an early lead over the Golden Bears. Maintaining their lead for most of the second set, the AMCATS looked as if they were going to capture their first set win of the season. However the Golden Bears would surge to tie the set at 25 points a piece ultimately taking the lead with a score of 27-25 making it a 2-0 match.

After a hard fought battle in the second set, the AMCATS lost their momentum in what would be the third and final set of the evening after the Bears closed things out with a swift 25-9 third set victory resulting in a 3-0 loss for the AMCATS. Annie Taylor led the AMCATS with 11 digs on the evening while Laure Decoteau led the AMCATS with 6 kills and 7.5 points.
