Moran Buries Two Goals In Win Over Bulldogs

PAXTON, MA - On Saturday, September 28th the Anna Maria College men's soccer team hosted the Dean College Bulldogs for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference matchup. The AMCATS won the game 3-1.

The AMCATS got off to a slow start against the Bulldogs as they gave up the first goal of the morning just under twenty minutes into the game. After allowing the Bulldogs to take control of the first half of play, the AMCATS decided to step things up in the second half. Trailing by one, Rubelsi Moran found the equalizer for the AMCATS nearly fifteen minutes into the second half off a pass from Iweka Iweka. Just five minutes later, Moran scored a highlight reel goal to give the AMCATS the 2-1 lead. With less than twenty minutes to play in the second half, the AMCATS put some insurance up on the board as Ciaran Bailey tucked in the AMCATS third and final goal of the evening off a rebound from Iweka Iweka. The AMCATS would close the game out leading 3-1 over the Bulldogs for their sixth win of the season.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:

• Rubelsi Moran leads the AMCATS in points so far this season with 13 after tacking on his 7th and 8th goal in 8 games played this year.
• Valter Santiago made 9 saves in the AMCATS win over the Bulldogs keeping him first in the GNAC with 62 so far this season.
• Ciaran Bailey notched his first career goal against the Bulldogs giving him his fifth point of the season.

COMING UP:

Men's soccer will be back in action on Tuesday, October 1st where they will host the Chargers of Colby Sawyer College for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference matchup. Opening kickoff is set for 6:00pm at Caparso Field in Paxton, MA.
