Bio
Emma Wilburn was named the inaugural Head Dance Coach at Anna Maria College in January 2026, bringing a strong background in dance instruction, team leadership, and student development to the emerging program. Wilburn currently serves as a Dance Instructor with the National Dance Alliance, where she provides instruction, team-building guidance, and leadership training to dancers ranging from middle school through the collegiate level while representing the NDA and Varsity Spirit brands .
In addition to her work with NDA, Wilburn has coaching experience at the secondary level, serving as an Assistant Coach for the Newton North High School Dance Team. There, she helped foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for more than 20 student-athletes while assisting with halftime, state, and regional-level routines and supporting dancers in goal-setting and personal growth .
Wilburn is also a Resident Director at the College of the Holy Cross, where she supervises and mentors student leaders, manages residence life operations, and responds to campus-wide situations—experience that further strengthens her ability to lead, mentor, and support student-athletes holistically .
A graduate of Assumption University, Wilburn earned a Bachelor of Arts in English with minors in Art History and Core Texts in the Honors Program. She was a member of the Assumption University Dance Team from 2020–23, competing in pom, team performance, and hip hop, and helping the team earn a second-place finish in Division II Team Performance and a third-place finish in Division II Pom at the 2022 NDA Nationals. She also served as the team’s Fundraising Captain during the 2022–23 season .
Wilburn’s background in dance education, choreography, and team development positions her to lead the Anna Maria College Dance program with energy, professionalism, and a commitment to student-athlete success.
