AMCATS Blank Mount Ida 9-0
Paxton, Mass. – The Anna Maria College Team picked up its third GNAC win to improve to 3-1 in conference play with a 9-0 shutout of Mount Ida College at the Paxton Sports Center. The AMCATS cruise to pro-set wins in every single match allowing just two points in double action and a stingy five points in singles play. With the win the AMCATS improve to 3-6 (3-1 GNAC) on the season.
In doubles' play, Anna Maria's Emily Williamson and Nicole Goudreau defeated Kayla Horton and Amanda Bowen 8-2 in the No. 1 position. The duo's of Victory Minotti and Katelyn Edelson and Kelly Blake and Casey Harrington posted 8-0 scores at the number two and three flights respectively.
Ida's Horton stole two points at the No. 1 singles, playing Minotti to an 8-2 match. Williamson, Goudreau, Edelson and Blake blanked their Mustang counterparts 8-0 before Krystle Arce scored an 8-3 win at number six.
The AMCATS travel to Simmons College on Saturday for a GNAC contest starting at 12:00pm.
