Football Names Matthew Coyne as Offensive Coordinator

PAXTON, Mass.—The Anna Maria College Athletic Department has named Matthew Coyne the Anna Maria College Football Offensive Coordinator. Coyne joins the Anna Maria football program following a two year coaching stint at Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio.

In his first year coaching at Oberlin, Coyne served as the Quarterbacks coach, Pass Game Coordinator and Recruiting Coordinator. He then took on the role as Offensive Coordinator in the Fall of 2016 while continuing his role as the football program's Recruiting Coordinator.
Coyne has excelled in all aspects of coaching and looks to bring his extended knowledge of offensive game concepts and preparation as well as his successful experience in recruiting to the Anna Maria College football program. "I am very excited about the opportunity to work with Coach Mulrooney and join the Anna Maria Football Program. Coach Mulrooney's core values of hard work and embracing opportunity resemble the type of student athlete's here at Anna Maria. The energy and excitement around the program was a key factor for me in deciding to join Coach Mulrooney's staff," said Coyne on joining the Anna Maria football family.

"I am looking forward to working with Coach Coyne. He brings a lot of experience and excitement to this program. We are looking to rebuild a team and his offensive and recruiting knowledge will make a large impact on the future of this program," said Head Coach Dan Mulrooney on the new hire.

Coyne also served as a Wide Receivers coach at Wesleyan University from 2012 to 2015. He is a graduate of Wesleyan University where he received his Master of Arts degree in Social Sciences and his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. He started at quarterback for the Cardinals for three years and served as a captain as a senior. Coyne is also a member of the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA).
